Hershel Dennis isn’t ready to give up just yet.
The tailback, whose final season for the Trojans was in 2007, has been preparing for USC’s Pro Day on April 1 as he strives to make an impression and catch the eye of an NFL team.
It’s been a long road for Dennis, who came to USC in 2002, missed two seasons with a pair of knee injuries and finished his career with a memorable touchdown run in the Rose Bowl against Illinois. He’s been working as a personal trainer in Long Beach for the last year along with training himself for a hopeful return to football — a dream that could become a reality if he has a successful performance at Pro Day in three weeks.
“I’m ready to get back on the field,” Dennis said.
